Visiting members in Bangkapi

Hey Everybody!

Sorry about not writing last week. I'm sure you were all devastated by not receiving anything last week. I wasn't able to email due to a lot of traveling in Thailand, where I don't have internet. Rest assured though, all that you really missed was a loooot of travel.

Lets seeee...last week started off as usual with English classes on Monday. On Tuesday, Elder Eckersley and I rode on a bus down to Udorn and then flew from Udorn to Bangkok to get his Thai visa work done. We got to Bangkok at around 5ish, so we went and visited Bangkapi, an area that we both served in (at different times) before we came to Laos. We got to see a bunch of our friends from there, so that was pretty cool. We then stayed the night at another Elder's house.

We got up the next day at 3:30am so we could get in line at the visa office by 5. If you get there later than that, you usually have to add another 1-4 hours on your wait time. No thanks. So we got there and waited with all the other missionaries from Elder Eckersley's group and their companions. It was pretty fun. There are so many people in the mission that I don't know now just because I'm way old here now and I've pretty much been exiled for a year hahaha. It was cool to meet some new people and see how the next generation of missionaries is.

We got done with the visa stuff around 10:30 and then went to a big mall in Bangkok called Future Park. We ate at a dope meat buffet there and then headed to the airport to get back to Udorn.

When we got to Udorn, we bussed back up to Laos and tried to find a tuk tuk to take us home. All of the tuk tuks decided to try to rip us off, so we just walked the 30ish minutes it takes to get home in the dark. Good times hahahaha.

The next day we taught English as usual, and then on Friday we went back to Udorn for our Zone Conference. Zone Conference was pretty good. We talked a lot about working with members, but since that's all we're legally allowed to do out here we already have that down to a science haha.

This past week has been pretty good. We got a lot of good member visits in and saw a lot of recent converts and their families. We also taught a lot of English which is always a wild time. This past week we also got to send one of our Branch 2 members off on a mission to California, as well as have a member that was serving in California come back home. That was pretty neat.

Today we plan on going up north and visiting a bunch of the members way out there. Should be pretty solid.

I hope you all have been doing well! I can't believe it's already March. I love and miss you all!

Thanks for all of your great examples in my life.

Love,
Elder Ridd ️👌🏻😉
