Happy New Year! 1/4/19

Grooving while planting rice with Mae Mii

The Vang Vieng squad

Hey everybody!

I hope that you've all had good weeks. This past week's been pretty good!

Probably the biggest thing that happened was on New Year's Eve. We decided to pretty much use that day as our P-day this week, so we went on a trip with the YSA. We went to a place called Vang Vieng, which is a huge tourist place. It's way gorgeous, has tons of mountains/caves/hikes, and is in a different province. It was super fun. We had a good time going on a bunch of hikes and into some caves up there. Way cool stuff.

Let's see, what else happened....Oh, yesterday we went up to a northern member's rice field and planted some rice! That's always a good time. I have a bunch of random cuts on my feet now, but totally worth it for the experience. I am absolutely awful at rice planting, by the way. So yeah, that's a career option that's been scratched off the list.

We also had a way cool dinner/game night at the church with a bunch of YSA, including some less active peeps and Elder Phasay's cousin.

Today I had to be the announcer for one of our English certificate/graduation ceremonies. It was way weird. I pretty much had to conduct a meeting in Lao while they had the director of the entire hospital there, plus everybody in charge of DIC from Hong Kong. That wasn't stressful at all lol.

It's so crazy that we're in a new year now. RIP 2018. It's even crazier to think that I was on my mission for the entirety of 2018. Wayyyyy weird.

I hope that you all keep doing well! Thanks for everything you guys do! You're all awesome. Good luck on whatever new year goals you have!

Love,
Elder Ridd
