Concrete, The Government, and Zone Conference - 5/5/19

Celebrating Teacher Jacob's birthday with some English students.
Zone Conference

Cleaning the church

Hey Everyone!

Sorry that I didn't send a letter out last week. I know you were all pretty devastated. Don't worry though, you didn't miss too much besides the usual English teaching.

This past week, however, has been pretty interesting. It started much like the usual week for a communist English teacher; we had classes, visits, the whole shebang.

Then on Wednesday it was Lao Labor Day, so we had the day off of teaching English. So we started by going out with some YSA to celebrate Elder Eckersley's birthday, which was pretty fun. After that we went and visited Brother Phii, who is a member who lives kinda far away. That was a good time, we then hauled ourselves across town to visit Sister Keo, whose neighbor wanted us to help move a ton of concrete pillars. That was pretty fun, and it was cool to break up some of the routine.

We also had zone conference this past week! That's always a good time. In preparation for this one we had a lot of reading about the Atonement and Jesus Christ. It was really fun to read about, especially with Come Follow Me focusing on the New Testament this year. Oh yeah, we also shaved our heads to prepare for zone conference.

The government here in Laos has decided to start getting stricter about us being here, so that's also pretty interesting. There's some high tensions going on, so prayers would totally help us out.

I love and miss all of you! Stay fresh.

Elder Ridd
